If I were a retired millionaire on a vacation in the Caribbean I would still be doing what I am doing today.  It’s 5: 38 a.m.  Working on my second cup of coffee.  Working on this post.  Prayerfully considering and meditating on the things the Lord has taught me, directing you to seek the same teaching he will provide you by his Spirit if you merely seek and ask him by faith.

Passion for what I am doing, discovering and attaining, along with the head of foam on the beer of life, being through many years of struggling, through bringing the necessary wisdom from the Lord, who is, my dearest friend.

We, he and I, are not finished yet.  Had things gone better at points, had I then the wisdom, I would, in this mid western US winter have purchased the tickets and my wife and I would be on that beach lounging and working the warm sand between our toes.

The runaway train of life sometimes takes to places you never thought you’d see.  I have seen some mighty hard places.  More like Samson, at times, than Jesus, I wait between the rock and the hard place, laughing, and say, here I am, come and get me.  With a big ol southern grin!  Tough as Nails, Fast on my feet, At home in the Jungle and as Mean as a Moccasin.  One of those tried to kill me once.

Those who relate to the Lord in fear, have not walked with him through honest assessment, nor have they been out of the shallow waters, where I have been.  As Ian Anderson [Jethrow Tull] wrote and sung, “you lick the boots of death born out of fear.”

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love  does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidenceon the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

NEWS FLASH:  God is not going to stop loving you from everlasting to everlasting, and has opened the way for reconciliation.  Here’s what he says to us about that, through the apostle Paul, the only source of the correct non-Jewish thought, given in theology, as Jesus tells us.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[b] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Throw the red lettered version away and until you learn, whom God is aside, from his prank in telling the Jews, here’s the rules, behave, then telling Moses they won’t be able to do it, promising he would keep his word, banish them from the land, give them a second chance and punishing them seven times over (2483 years later as precisely predicted … it in my books) so they would gather the idea they failed to gather, that being they are not able to obey.

The foundation is corrupt from the root, and the mechanism will not allow level flight.  Jesus speaking universal words, as opposed to words intended for those in the mysterious practical joke of the law (God wanting the enemy to gloat until the woman’s seed crushed his head) inasmuch as Paul, expert in the law, “legalistically perfect” he boasted, but tells us in spite of the commandments of the law, no one, could ever claim they kept it.

He admits to us he cannot at Romans 7.  Get a Bible and read it for yourselves.  Competent reading requires comprehension of what you read and ability to synthesize information not explicitly stated.

“For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.”

So when you hear them puffing about obedience (that’s boasting, YES they are boasting) realize, that to destroy his enemy, the dragon, Satan, God set aside the practical joke of the law, stating then and after Jesus, the state of obedience filthy rags [nonsense they do not love the Lord their God with heart mind soul and strength ever single second they breathe, not do they fail to look at the beautiful ones without any lust at every occasion in life] and none of them ever called in sick when they were not, inventing something about a death in the family, or whatever.

Don’t fall for the Poppycock!  They misread and think God wants them to be good, then when they approve themselves they turn and tell everyone else how good they are and how good they must be too.

Obedience!  LAUGHTER LORD!  The finishing touch on the practical joke is Jesus saying, If your right hand offends you cut it off and throw it away … I noticed a long time ago there are not enough one eyed preachers to convince me they are obedient.  There is the POPPYCOCK!

Now the practical joke of God was to send his own Son (born of a woman, as he told Moses, but not a man (vindicating Eve who managed only to be the one who fell first … girls honestly beginning with my own mother I do not know what I would do without your strength to help me in this life … much more in tune with feelings, accepting and merciful, like God wants … I apologize for testosterone poisoning) to look his enemy in the eye, obey the commandments, resist the devil’s servants, teach the lowly, heal the sick, the lame, the blind, driving out demons and by faith with Pilate’s sign King of the Jews above his head, take the sins (all men’s and women’s disobedience) of the whole world upon himself upon the cross.  Ending it with a shout, “IT IS FINISHED.”

A songwriter named Michael Card wrote accurately:

“As Satan stood trembling, knowing now he had lost.  As the Lamb took his first step on the way to the cross.  This must be the Lamb.  The fulfillment of all God had Spoken.  This must be the Lamb.  Not a single bone will be broken.  Like a sheep to the slaughter.  So Silently Still!  This must be the Lamb.”

God told it all in advance, my area of expertise, by his Spirit.

The practical joke was to allow the enemy to gloat for millennia, while God patiently prepared the Vindication of his name, exactly as he intended from the foundation of the earth.  God exists at all times everlasting to everlasting and clearly did what he planned flawlessly.  Alternatively, even though he exists in the future and knows before it happens Adam will fall, Adam must have free will or the Lord would be as guilty as the devil.  So what then of integrity?  God, taking on the flesh of a man to defeat the enemy by creating a new obedience, obedience, thereafter, to Faith in the Cross of Christ and his Resurrection Power.  God took the blame!  God took your blame.  Time to rest under the atonement he provides.

Gentiles, many not understanding these things fully, not being perfected in love, fearing the Lord is itching to cast them off, they translate this rejection, onto others and claim “but not us.”  Just exactly like the Pharisees, Jesus condemned for exactly that reason.  These have gone out on the wrong limb, ever learning, yet unable to acknowledge the truth, and God in our day has handed the saw to the very ones he says he will use, at I Corinthians 1:

“Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

Lord Jesus, I do boast in you knowing their skepticism means nothing to you and therefore even less to me.  It is you who makes us the righteousness of God and not the other way around.

Jesus states his purpose in all this destruction of the enemy, his work at John 17: 1:

“I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.”

In John 16: 8, Jesus redefines sin:

“When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer;11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.”

In short here:  Jesus condemned Satan by obeying the father as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, as John the Baptist (witness to the light testified) also showing righteousness cannot hang out with those still in corrupted flesh and finally

“About SIN, because people do not believe in me.”

It is this believing in Jesus that brings truth and the truth will set you free.  Jesus speaking of the coming Holy Spirit and the actual relationship he has the power to bring you.  John 16: 12-14:

“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.  He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

He tells us here our relationship to God is now through the Holy Spirit who does speak to us, as individuals.

A day or two ago, I wrote a post here on the infantile argument between Divisions in the church in our day.  I told you they are both wrong.  The one side claims you have no free will.  The other side claims, in divers error you are dependent on your free will and must accomplish obedience through God’s spirit, but then they added rule books and started looking at the sins of others etc.  These, the many of them, reinterpret sanctification (means set aside for a holy purpose) as “HOLINESS”, because they read their incorrect definition into God’s plan of mercy, and many of them, have become the Pharisees Jesus warned them about.

Romans 9: 16:

It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.

Further on the night before his trial(s) and death the next afternoon, Jesus prayed that the Father would sanctify all believers.  God does it, not the flesh of men.  Jesus further prayed for all believers that we would be one with him, by the Spirit of Truth, as he is one with the Father in Heaven.

Do you have free will to choose or not choose Jesus?  Yes you do.  If not, then God is the author of evil and sin, and not holy.  [So much for Calvinism]  It was the enemy’s free will exercised in rebellion that authored these things.

Do you have the ability to pucker you sphincter and squeeze holiness into place by then flexing your arms and pecks to show God how pleasing you are to him?  No you do not.  [So much for Wesley] Referencing you again to John chapters 14-17 Jesus lays out the Spirit’s work and his perfect plan for you.

Now Paul, in Acts 9: 15, receives this commission, as related, by the Spirit, to Ananias, Jesus by then glorified and functioning through the Spirit of truth, just as he states in John 16: 12-14:

“But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”

Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.”

Spending 39 years with Jesus and reading the Bible cover to cover many times, studying to reconciliation things that seem to be contradictions, I would advise (ever the coach) for a beginner or one who holds onto the idols of men [Calvin vs. Wesley etc. etc. etc. Yul Brenner] and their myriad commentaries to begin reading John to find out who Jesus is, some of what he taught, his miracles and his death and resurrection.  John because he does not emphasize law which you are not now, nor, as a Gentile ever a subject too.  Don’t take my word for it, read what Paul reveals, by revelation in the Spirit.

Then, after John, I would begin in Acts and read Paul’s words in the epistles (letters to the churches he founded) and Romans (his dissertation).

Yes, you’ll hear, critics.  The skepticism of the peanut gallery is ultimately mere drivel.  Paul encourages you to follow the Spirit and those in the Spirit he says are not under law.  Regardless of when the jots and tittles disappear.
