The Love You Had At First

Revelation 2: 1-7:

To the Church in Ephesus

“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:

These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lamp stands. I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lamp stand from its place. But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. (NIV)

Radio Preacher with Scottish Accent, unsure of his denominational lineage, as it were said:

“Talk of this second coming and there is a looaut [lot] of nonsense out there about this.  He went on to complain that this ridiculous story leads to the scoffers asking, so where is this coming?”

My prayerful and studied opinion is that any system which forms its theology from the four gospels is off track per Jesus’ own words.  Go HERE:  Rightly Dividing

Calvin misread Matthew 24 “… elect …” as Gentile believers “predestined.”  While logically the Lord Almighty who can tell the end from the beginning assuredly knows history in advance there is still clear issue of free will seen in Jesus’ instruction to those Jews:

“If you want to be my disciples you must, “deny yourself” “pick up your cross” and “come to me.”   … deny, lift … come. …

No not a Weslyan either.  Finding for myself that a follower of Jesus is unconcerned about what anyone before had to say (The peanut gallery) as per Jesus’ clear statement in John 16: 12-14:

“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.” (NIV)

The world watched me boldly proclaim and walk forth as the chains fell off.  When I was done revealing the Lord’s glory, being persecuted as the prophets who came before me, jumping for joy, I focused my attention exclusively where the Lord states in his word it should be:

2 Peter 1:  19-21:

“We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (NIV)

The 30% of your Bible, both the old and the new testaments that involves prophetic predictions and their fulfillment s.  Like this “looaut [lot] of nawnsense ouut here (Sarcasm is one of my gifts):

I Thessalonians 4:  13-18:

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.” (NIV)

Right there in verse 17, a few languages away is the Latin Word Rapture identical in meaning to the greek word HARPOZO i.e “caught up to meet the Lord in the air” Accord. Jesus in John 11: 25, 26:

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

27 “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” (NIV)

I am surprised as usual that the seminaried don’t believe the scriptures like a little child.  That’s the commandment of Christ, not all this repenting and obeyeedeeance to Moses.  Jesus in Mark 1 told Jews under law to repent (mistranslation) (DO PENANCE bad boy … write me a check … say your hail yeah that girl, with all the other children) where Jesus told Jews in Israel to change their minds (about 1500 years of religion) and “believe” the good news.

I John 3: 1-3:

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.”  (NIV)

I John 1: 5-7:

“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.”  (NIV)

Christ’s command Matthew 24:

“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

42 “Therefore keep watch … .”  (NIV)

That “looaut [lot] of nawnsense ouut here” is what the Lord of Lords and the King of kings told you to do.  So, Keep Watch.

Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”

At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”  (NIV)

John 14: 6:  “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. (NIV)
