Who Is Bart Ehrman?
Dr Bart D. Ehrman wrote Misquoting Jesus, The Story Behind Who Changed The Bible and Why. [Dr. Ehrman’s 20 (or whatever) books and my two books are there on Amazon] Dr. Ehrman, the last I knew had sold twenty million books. Dr. Bart D. Ehrman is textual critic and Professor of the New Testament.
He believes that Men through retelling the story transformed Jesus from a failed apocalyptic prophet into God. I heard him in a talk he gave a talk at Coral Gables Congregational Church, Coral Gables Florida.
He claimed in this talk that Jesus never claimed to be God in the snynoptic gospels. Those being Mark, Matthew, and Luke. He points out, John was written down in 90 A.D. emphasizing Jesus died 60 or so years prior. Ten to Twenty yeas after 70 A.D. Destruction of Israel by Rome.
Who Is Jesus?
In John, Jesus is quoted as saying to the Pharisees: “Before Abraham was I AM.” He also says there, “I and the Father are one. Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” In both instances the Pharissees picked up stones, as John relays.
Those in Islam also believe and claim the scriptures were corrupted. Their Mahdi is coming and the true messiah (in their books) is coming to correct the Christians and Jews and kill all those who reject Islam.
Ehrman believes the gospel of John, written later exaults Jesus to the station of God and that John puts these words in his mouth.
I know this is untrue and I know precisely why, John is different than the previously written books.
The Constitution of the United States defines law, though most don’t even understand this or what it means. The
The federal government has more limitations on its exercise of power than the fifty states. The states have more limitations than the citizens who actually have authority. The document is the authority over everyone, within the borders of the United States.
Likewise, during the time of the writing of the three synoptic gospels, Israel was under the Constitution of Israel. Jesus also was under the Constitution of Israel. From Joshua onward the Jews were under the law of Moses in the land of Israel.
Of course during the banishment to Babylonia and the diaspora (scattered into the nations) they were unable to fulfill the law. No temple, no priests and no nation means there is no law.
John wrote his book after that law was disposed of by God. That the Jews did not understand, in the beginning, is seen in scripture, most noatable in Galatians (Paul’s First Epistle, which I have rarely seen preached … READ IT) and Acts 15 and in Hebrews.
What Was Jesus Preaching And To Whom?
Scholars do not know the identity of the author of Hebrews. I believe it is anonymously written by Paul to correct the doctrine of those mixing old wine in new skins.
At the risk of controversy, Jesus did not preach the pure gospel, and NEVER taught Gentiles, because he was limited by the Constitution of Israel. He spoke to Jews about the kingdom of heaven. Being rejected by the Temple Set and crucified by the hesitant Pilate, Jesus never ascended the throne of the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus, himself, in Matthew 10: 5:
“These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ “
Matthew 15: 24:
“Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
So I ask, was Jesus preaching the gospel to the world or the kingdom of heaven to Jews. He tells you there, himself.
Original Apostles and The Veil Removed
Jesus commissioned one man to “bring his name before Gentiles, their rulers and the people of Israel.” Jesus Quote!
Acts 9: 15:
“But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
Paul The Prophet Who fulfills Jesus’ Words in John 16.
That is where Jesus, himself placed the gospel. He taught it to Paul, a Pharisse and expert in the Constitution of Israel, given by Moses, by revelation from the Holy Spirit.
Paul, in Acts 15 taught the gospel of grace to the apostles at Jerusalem. Understand James, John, Peter lived even after Jesus was crucified and resurrected, under the Constitution of Israel, the Law of Moses.
The confusion, evident in our day is not authored by God. It is authored by denominational seminaries.
In John Chaoter 16: 7-14, Jesus predicts this:
“But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.”
12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
As I said, most notably Galatians and the climax in Acts 15 reveals most implicitly the division of the Word of God between the law and Grace. Well revealed in Romans, Paul’s dissertation.
The Old Testament Prophesied Jesus’ New Covenant
This is found in the Old testament also: Jeremiah 31: 31-34:
“The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. 32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. 33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.34 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the Lord. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
So if the seminaried cannot gleen the wheat from the chaff, why believe the Bible, like Ehrman explicates? Objective evidence in fulfilled prophecy, that would stand in a court of law, proving Jesus is the Son of God, is what I teach. The unsealing of the scrolls of Daniel, which God foretold. The seminaried do not give me the time of day, and I don’t care. I told them first. But they do not think Peter’s exortation to pay attention to the prophetic record is worthy of them. Correct doctrine? God indicts them, himself in Isaiah and in Daniel. Don’t get me wrong, I go to church, but see there is an abnormal dpearture at many points from the scriptures themselves. Many of them, on the evidence could not be convicted of being believers in Jesus.
In Isaiah 46: 8-13:
“Remember this, keep it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels. 9 Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. 10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ 11 From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do. 12 Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are now far from my righteousness. 13 I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel.”
He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”
As an engineer, I asked what is this word problem? Jesus speaks of this passage of Daniel in Matthew 24. John also speaks of the temple mount, and trampling by Gentiles, in Revelation 11. There is no dispute possible, that the scriptures have been corrupted since 1948.
The solution to the word problem identifies to the year what sits on the temple site since 688 A.D. The words written in the tile are the words of anti-Christ. It is prepared for the “man of lawlessness” i.e. the Anti-Christ, whom on a wing of the temple will declare himself to be God.
The word problems in my books as I learned them from others, then collected and confirmed them. are Objective proof that Jesus is God Almighty, the Son of the Living God.
Hate? No, I love them enough to tell them the truth in terms they cannot reasonably deny. Please come to the light my friends.
The book is found here:
A member of our family turned from being a disciple of Jesus to become a disciple of Ehrman. The book was written to bring him back from under the Powerful Delusion. prophesied, I Thessalonians. And to provide innoculation, from the persuasive arguments of the Ehrman’s of our day, for the younger members of our family and yours. It strengthens faith. Decide for yourself the value of obeying Jesus and looking at the Father’s objective prophetic evidence he foretold, or following along with the confusions authored by our enemy.
Thank you for vistiting my site. Thank you for reading. Please come back often. I will be adding more here soon. Dr. Ehrman, you better re-read the book and check with the math department. Chris Queen 5/2/2020.
