Jesus understood the difference between Jews (under the Law of Moses as was he, until: 1): he died and, 2): 70 AD verses Gentiles, who were never cultivated by God under law nor under it still if they walk by the Spirit. Walk by the Spirit? John? Justin?
Matthew 10 and 15, Jesus expressly states he came only for the lost sheep of Israel, instructing his disciples not to teach Gentiles. Paul completely explains this in Romans 8: 15:
“For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed 9 and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy.” (NIV)
Note (if you know the Bible, well) also the very diverse and unique prophecies concerning Gentiles vs. Jews.
So at Acts 9: 15 we find Jesus in Red Letters establishing The One an Only church for the Gentiles:
“The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”
13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”
15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” (NIV)
So the church of Gentiles was started by Paul at Jesus’ command ordaining and empowering Paul (not Peter for you Catholics) as “my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.”
I have gone to great lengths to explain from what was prophesied exactly who and where most of the Jews went. Exactly what the Word of God says.
Today we call out false prophets by name as Justin Peters and John MacArthur claim they want it. OK.
“Strange Fire’ the “non-scriptural book” by Mac Arthur as I presume not being given over to commentaries and few ever “Christian Books” myself. But I have heard him preach nonsense concerning the “gifts of the Spirit given as the spirit determines” for encouragement to the church for the good of all.”
I Corinthians 14: 1-31:
Brothers and sisters, I want you to know about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. 2 You know that at one time you were unbelievers. You were somehow drawn away to worship statues of gods that couldn’t even speak. 3 So I want you to know that no one who is speaking with the help of God’s Spirit says, “May Jesus be cursed.” And without the help of the Holy Spirit no one can say, “Jesus is Lord.”
4 There are different kinds of gifts. But they are all given to believers by the same Spirit. 5 There are different ways to serve. But they all come from the same Lord. 6 There are different ways the Spirit works. But the same God is working in all these ways and in all people.
7 The Holy Spirit is given to each of us in a special way. That is for the good of all. 8 To some people the Spirit gives a message of wisdom. To others the same Spirit gives a message of knowledge. 9 To others the same Spirit gives faith. To others that one Spirit gives gifts of healing. 10 To others he gives the power to do miracles. To others he gives the ability to prophesy. [“Wait a minute here God” MacArthur and Peters] To others he gives the ability to tell the spirits apart. To others he gives the ability to speak in different kinds of languages they had not known before. And to still others he gives the ability to explain what was said in those languages. 11 All the gifts are produced by one and the same Spirit. He gives gifts to each person, just as he decides. [but now MacArthur and Peters decide . … Like our three year old grandsons they decide when to pee].
One Body but Many Parts
12 There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ. 13 We were all baptized by one Holy Spirit. And so we are formed into one body. It didn’t matter whether we were Jews or Gentiles, slaves or free people. We were all given the same Spirit to drink. 14 So the body is not made up of just one part. It has many parts.
15 Suppose the foot says, “I am not a hand. So I don’t belong to the body.” By saying this, it cannot stop being part of the body. 16 And suppose the ear says, “I am not an eye. So I don’t belong to the body.” By saying this, it cannot stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, how could it hear? If the whole body were an ear, how could it smell? 18 God has placed each part in the body just as he wanted it to be. 19 If all the parts were the same, how could there be a body? 20 As it is, there are many parts. But there is only one body.
21 The eye can’t say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” [seriously Peters and MacArthur] The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 In fact, it is just the opposite. The parts of the body that seem to be weaker are the ones we can’t do without. 23 The parts that we think are less important we treat with special honor. The private parts aren’t shown. But they are treated with special care. 24 The parts that can be shown don’t need special care. But God has put together all the parts of the body. And he has given more honor to the parts that didn’t have any. 25 In that way, the parts of the body will not take sides. All of them will take care of one another. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. If one part is honored, every part shares in its joy.
27 You are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of it. 28 First, God has placed apostles in the church. Second, he has placed prophets in the church. Third, he has placed teachers in the church. Then he has given to the church miracles and gifts of healing. He also has given the gift of helping others and the gift of guiding the church. God also has given the gift of speaking in different kinds of languages. 29 Is everyone an apostle? Is everyone a prophet? Is everyone a teacher? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in languages they had not known before? Do all explain what is said in those languages? 31 But above all, you should want the more important gifts.
Love Is Necessary
But now I will show you the best way of all. (NIV)
But the gifts ceased after the first century so men could go it alone with the book not compiled by the way until the third century. God can you count? Laughter.
“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
So I must admit I am wrong and realize the gifts have ceased. LAUGHTER. The very next verse:
I Corinthians 14: 1:
“Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. 2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue[ does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. 3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. 4 Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. 5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues,[b] but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues,[c] unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.” (NIV)
Being Cessation-ists (no more gifts of the Spirit God, you get this, buddy?) our two Calvinist (men have no free will to choose God? Stupid.) preachers believe at some point the Spirit decided it is best not to encourage the church through vital relationship with the Spirit which Jesus promised to give and indeed gave and instead the Spirit now only works through the completed Canon of Scripture. (Be quiet in here Holy Spirit?).
He, God, Father Son and Holy Spirit now only uses those who complete an intellectual pursuit in diverse seminaries rightly dividing the body of Christ, according to these intellectual opinions of men.
Hmmm? Sounds fairly idiotic to me. Born of the Spirit but then led only by a book and by men who refute any work of the Spirit. ??? God is neither disorderly nor idiotic.
Jesus on the night he died said to his closest apostles at John 16: 7-11:
“Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.” (NIV)
Then he promised at John 16: 12-14:
“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” (NIV)
As I have prior written people sin because they do not believe in Jesus. That does not mean suddenly they stand at attention their flesh now able to obey as the apostles received Paul in Acts 15 admitting their inability to bear the burden of the law and clearly stating Gentiles are not subject to law. All are saved by faith in Jesus as Peter and James there agreed, or not at all.
Further all righteous boasting is ridiculous because righteousness dwells in Christ alone. Ask them if they love the Lord their God perfectly and completely 24/7 by 365 and if they tell you yes you have found one who has not the truth within them.
I John 1: 8:
“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (NIV)
Paul in Galatians prior had fully explained all of this:
Galatians 5: 13-26:
“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.” (NIV)
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” (NIV)
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” (NIV)
Keep in step with the Spirit? He does not speak anymore according to our two, well …, false prophets, except through the completed Canon of scripture. Out loud if you read it out loud God speaks according to Justine Peters. What a farce! Be quiet God you cannot speak except through the 66 books of the Bible and these clowns insist the entire church do it the way they say. And they mean it God. BE QUIET. Laughter. God’s in our box and he’s going to stay there or else..
More. I Corinthians 14: 29-33:
Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30 And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31 For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32 The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people. (NIV)
Rather than limiting what is said, here Paul explains it is the responsibility of the hearer to weigh carefully what is said.
The weak pattern of the 20th century seminaried church and worse is to have masters of the intellectual pursuits (Masters of the Universe) to explain to the “little bambino Christians all they need to know for salvation.”
In reality much of the Bible, like Galatians 5 is treated as top secret (I have rarely in 43 years heard any sermon on Galatians 5 or Acts 15) because they in their arrogance think the law and commandments are more useful than an understanding of freedom in the Spirit of grace through faith in Jesus whose blood is actually insulted when grace is set aside.
And of course James: EBBEN DUH DEMONS BELIEBE used by so many ignorant to claim believing in Jesus is NOT the complete and only way to salvation. Contrast James’ letter to Antioch in Acts 15
John 5: 24:
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” (NIV)
John 6: 28, 29:
“Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” (NIV)
The weak ones deny the power of God and their teachings have truly become rules taught by men. Or worse, I Timothy 1: 5-7:
“The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. 7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.” (NIV)
Further there are many who spout about false prophets and teachers in the end times claiming the non nasty ones (law, hell and law and damnation and further anyone exhibiting any gift of the Spirit are the false teachers. Paul spoke to the actual falling away in Galatians 5: 4-5:
“You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.” (NIV)
The Falling Away.
Meanwhile those who create and want you to be subject to this tension they believe God intends ignore Jesus. Matthew 7:
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” (NIV)
Oh Calvin. Wesley too. I call Calvin Goober and Wesley Gomer. Goober just sits at the filling station while Gomer is a Marine who will get the job done Semper Fi.
Goober claims no free will to accept Jesus as savior exists. The elect are on auto pilot like the lost. So when Paul says in Romans 8:
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[b] God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.[c] And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” (NIV)
“You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life[d] because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of[e] his Spirit who lives in you.” (NIV)
Goober, on the other hand did not first understand whom the elect were and are. They’re Jews and elect on account of Abraham. Why God sent Jesus to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs (Romans 8) Then we must ask about what Paul also revealed in Romans 8:
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that[h] the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”
So who subjected it and how Goober? Clearly Eve knew what God had said. Satan deceived Eve by saying and she made the free choice based on her senses to choose to obey God or her delight. I call Calvinism a completely illogical notion because without Eve’s free will and then Adam’s the creation was subjected only by God and this requires the added notion God created evil and he did not. Iniquity was found in Lucifer due to his pride.
Now Gomer starts off thinking he accomplished salvation through his works or not. If you did not earn salvation and you did not, then you cannot un-earn it. That is why it is called a gift by grace through faith. Follow the Spirit who compels you once you make the choice to follow Christ, being born of the Spirit (Jesus at John 3) and you’ll find it is in his hands because you have become the work of God. DUH!
We will close with this. Jesus at 11: 28-31:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (NIV)
I am very confident about all these things because I have learned from Jesus and know the Word well enough to speak it with authority that comes from the knowledge of Christ. Thank you for visiting my site and for reading my posts. Chris.
